Dr. Andrii Rukkas – Associate Professor at the Department of Central and Eastern European History, Faculty of History, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. He is a specialist in military history of Ukraine in the 1st half of 20th century, and has more than 100 scholarly and popular publications. Dr. Rukkas is an author of book about Polish-Ukrainian military alliance in 1920 “Razom z Polskim Viiskom. Armiia UNR 1920 r. Struktura, orhanizatsiia, chyselnist, uniforma” [“Together with Polish Army. The Army of Ukrainian People’s Republic in 1920. The Structure, Organization, Numbers, Uniform”] (Nizhyn, 2013; Kyiv, 2015), coauthor of “Istoriia ukrainskoho viiska” [“The History of Ukrainian Army”] (Kharkiv, 2016), “Na bii za voliu. The discussion will mainly focus on foreign policy of the Ukrainian People’s Republic, geopolitical situation during the formation of the Ukrainian statehood and development of diplomatic ties, activities of Ukrainians in Riga in 1917, build-up оf Ukrainian units in the Northern front, fight of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army and other issues.
