The Ambassador congratulated the teachers, students, their parents and guests of the event. «Day of Knowledge – a solemn and exciting moment for each of us, because it begins the unknown, interesting but difficult road to knowledge and preparation for independent living» - said the Ambassador.

The Ambassador also congratulated the participants of the Third Taras Shevchenko International linguistic and literary contest of pupils and students and presented them with diplomas of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Representatives of the Ukrainian community of Latvia also greeted the pupils on the Day of Knowledge.

Students of the school performed a concert presenting Ukrainian and Latvian songs. At the end of the event the guests performed the anthem of Riga Ukrainian Secondary School.

The celebration was attended by activists of the Ukrainian community, local media, academics and intellectuals.
