On 17 June 2021, Ambassador of Ukraine Olexandr Mischenko, Ambassador of Georgia Tea Maisuradze and Ambassador of Moldova Andrian Roşa met with Under Secretary of State – Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia Jānis Mažeiks.
The issues of European integration of the Association Trio were discussed during the meeting. The Ambassadors of Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova thanked the Latvian side for its unwavering support for the aspirations of the three countries on their path to the EU integration.
The Foreign Ministers of Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova established the Association Trio, a tripartite format for enhanced cooperation on European integration, by signing on May 17, 2021 the Memorandum of Understanding on Establishing of Enhanced Cooperation on European Integration – the Associated Trio. The document emphasizes the European aspirations of the three EU associate partners and their ambitions to become members of the European Union.
