Consul of Ukraine in the Republic of Latvia Oleg Gorbenko and Privatbank (Latvia) Deputy Head of Board Viktor Samarin visited seven Ukrainian citizens, who were injured in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in the East of Ukraine and undergo treatment at the Vaivari National Rehabilitation Center in Jurmala, Latvia, and congratulated them on New Year and Xmas.
The servicemen thanked for the gifts and shared their plans to return to Ukraine and continue service in the ATO after the treatment.
According to them, recently they have been attended by Commander of the Armed Forces of Latvia, Lt Gen Raimonds Graube, who promised to provide them with winter boots.
The injured Ukrainian servicemen undergo treatment in accordance with the decision of the Government of Latvia. The first 10 servicemen have already completed the rehabilitation and returned to Ukraine.
The financing has been provided from the emergency fund of Latvia. The treatment of one person costs about 3000 euro.
The Ministry of Defense of Latvia has also sent the humanitarian aid to children of Ukrainian servicemen in the amount of around 15 000 euro. The Crisis Management Council of Latvia approved the decision to render humanitarian aid to Ukraine in the amount of 50 000 euro.
