JURMALA TO HOST CHARITY CONCERT FOR UKRAINIAN WAR ORPHANS

On 6 July 2015 under the patronage of Latvia Saeima Chairperson Inara Murniece the charity concert “Children of War” will be staged to raise funds for Ukrainian children, who became orphaned because of the Russian aggression in the East of Ukraine.
The concert, organized by the Rotary Club Riga Ridzene, will be held on the biggest summer stage Dzintari in Jurmala. Best musicians from Latvia and Ukraine will perform with no reward, the hall rent and other technical expenditures are covered by the Rotary Club, the Jurmala City Council and other sponsors.
The funds raised from ticket sale and donations will be spent to bring about 100 Ukrainian orphans to Latvian sanatoriums in August – October.
Together with Saeima Speaker Inara Murniece, MPs, Government officials, the concert will also be attended by Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada deputies and diplomatic corps. Estonia and Lithuania Parliament Speakers also stated their intention to attend the concert.
Under the support of the Latvian Mobile Telephone, Latvian Television channel LTV1 and Radio 1 the concert will be broadcast online, donations can be made via special telephone number.
The Embassy of Ukraine in Latvia invites everyone, who cares about the welfare of the Ukrainian children, to join the charitable event.
