On November 23 Minister for agrarian policy and food of Ukraine Oleksii Pavlenko visited Riga chairing a delegation of Head of the State Agency of Forest Resources Oleksandr Kovalchuk and Head of the State Agency of Fishery Yarema Kovaliv.
During the visit the Ukrainian Minister met with his Latvian counterpart, Minister for Agriculture Jānis Dūklavs, exchanging opinions on the Latvian experience in reformation of forest, dairy and fish industries of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian delegation also visited the Riga Free Port, where the Minister was briefed about the plans of its development and opportunities for cooperation with Ukrainian companies, in particular in the context of increasing capabilities of the container train “ZUBR”.
The parties have agreed on the continuation of bilateral contacts between experts and reciprocal engagement of specialists into joint projects.
