On October 21, 2010, a solemn opening of the exhibition of works of Ukrainian artist Anzhelika Rudnytska took place in Ukrainian information Center of the Latvian Academic Library.

Greeting the guests of the event, Charge d’Affairs of Ukraine in Latvia O.Kushnir stressed the deep sense of such name of the exhibition, since A.Rudnytska managed to create the whole universe of Ukrainian symbols and signs with the help of needle and threads. “The exhibition visited many countries of the world, and today Latvian public also has the opportunity to get more acquainted with Ukrainian culture, traditions and beliefs” – said Mr. Kushnir.

More than 45 works, created in a unique technique of “embroidery painting”, are presented at the exhibition.

Representatives of official, cultural and business circles, as well as of Latvia intelligentsia took part in the opening of the exhibition. The event was widely covered by local mass-media.
