Initiated by the Ukrainian Irish community the Ukrainian flag arrived in Riga after travelling through England, France, Portugal, Germany, Spain, Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Italy, Estonia and Finland. Latvian Ukrainians welcomed the flag at the Monument to Taras Shevchenko in Riga and together with their warmhearted wishes conveyed it further to Ukrainians of Europe, next stop is Lithuania.

On the occasion of the action the Embassy of Ukraine organized the show of the documentary by Vyacheslav Bihun “Strong in Spirit”, telling the story of Ukrainian political prisoner Yuriy Yatsenko, who was the first to be released from the Russian prison after the Russian military aggression started.
