On 21 of November the Day of Dignity and Freedom of Ukraine was marked in Riga by honoring the Heavenly Hundred heroes near the monument to Taras Shevchenko. Also on this day, the meeting with Ukrainian and Latvian activists held at the Embassy of Ukraine.
Given the ongoing military and informational aggression of Russia against Ukraine and taking into account the relevance of the struggle against Russian propaganda, both in Ukraine and in Latvia, the Embassy screened the documentary “Myths and realities of the enemy`s propaganda”.
Later on participants of the event shared their impressions and memories of the events of 2014, discussed changes and the prosperously ongoing reform process in Ukraine, the impetus for which was the Revolution of Dignity.
According to Charge d'Affaires of Ukraine in Latvia Ms. Alisa Podolyak, Ukraine highly appreciates the solidarity and support of Latvia during the revolutionary events of years 2013-2014, including the fact that Latvia took on the treatment participants of revolution, which were injured during those events, also Latvia continued its support in the struggle of Ukraine against Russian aggression.
The meeting at the Embassy of Ukraine held also with participation of a group of Ukrainian students, who study in Riga under the program of Advanced and Intensive Programmes in European Law and Economics, which are holding by the Riga School of Law since 2014 with the support of the Latvian Foreign Ministry.
