On 29 March Ambassador of Ukraine to Latvia Olexandr Mischenko met with Director General of Bilateral Relations Directorate Ilgvars Kļava, with whom discussed a wide range of bilateral cooperation issues and cooperation within Eastern Partnership.
The Ambassador of Ukraine thanked for Latvia’s support of territorial integrity and reforms in Ukraine and condemnation of the Russian aggression. Olexandr Mischenko called on Latvian authorities to condemn the new wave of searches in occupied Crimea on 27 March, during which 20 Crimean Tatars were detained, and illegal conviction of Pavlo Hryb.
General Director Ilgvars Kļava reassured of support of Ukraine within Eastern Partnership and readiness to further share its experience of reforms, necessary for integration within EU and NATO. The Latvian diplomat commended the economic and security stabilization in Ukraine despite the Russian aggression.
