The meeting covered a range of topics concerning Ukraine-Latvia cooperation in the field of justice.

During the meeting issues of cooperation in the framework of EU-funded projects like «Strengthening the Institutional Capacity of the Supreme Court of Ukraine in the Field of Human Rights Protection at the National Level» (is supported by the Ministry of Justice of Latvia) were also discussed.

The Ambassador thanked for strong support of Latvia to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and the condemnation of Russia as an aggressor country.

Olexandr Mischenko informed Jānis Bordāns about last developments in Ukraine, in particular, about preparations to the extraordinary parliamentary elections to be held on July 21, 2019.
