On September 5, 2019 the Ukrainian delegation of agro-industrial export enterprises at the invitation of Ambassador of Ukraine Olexandr Mischenko visited the Embassy. The Head of the diplomatic mission has discussed with the representatives of the delegation ways to strengthen the Ukraine-Latvia business cooperation in the field of agriculture, and also summarized the results of the delegation's participation in the relevant international event «Rīga Food 2019».
The delegation included Ukrainian unions and companies, in particular «The Association of Winegrowers and Winemakers of Ukraine», «Agrocomplex Barsky», «USPA Fruit Ukraine» («UA Apple»), REEDS «Yarmolyntsy Cannery Factory», «Belozirsky Wines», «VIGreen»», «Ukrainian Honey Food», «Nut of the Black Sea Coast», «InterFood - Standard», «Agro Patriot», «Gro – Delivery», «Bee Granola», «Evroservisgroup», «Vetropack Gostomel Glass Factory», as well as representatives of the Kherson Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the United Nations International Trade Center in the framework of the project of technical assistance to Ukraine «Helping the entry of small and medium-sized enterprises of the vegetable sector to foreign markets and their inclusion in the value chain».
The participants of the event have discussed the prospects for the development of trade in innovative eco-products, as well as the promotion of fruit and wine, as well as various types of processed food, including in the catering segment, with the opportunity to present promising Ukrainian export-oriented enterprises within the framework of the «Riga Food 2020» exhibition (25th anniversary) and the elaboration of the preparation of the National Stand of Ukraine for participation in the said event.
The Ambassador of Ukraine also participated in the opening ceremony of the leading international exhibition event in Latvia «Riga Food 2019» (4-7 September, 2019) and the presentation of the agro-industrial export sector of Ukraine within the framework of this event. Companies from the EU and other regions (more than 700 companies from about 40 countries) took part in the event.
