On 12 September 2012, the reception on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of Ukraine's independence took place in the Small Guild.

Latvian officials, leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, representatives of the diplomatic corps, Latvian state institutions, mass-media, Ukrainian diaspora and clergy of different confessions took part in the reception.

In his speech of welcome, Ambassador of Ukraine to Latvia Mr. Anatoliy Oliynyk emphasized the key achievements of our state in implementing reform agenda, as well as the foreign policy priorities of Ukraine and bilateral Ukraine-Latvia cooperation perspectives.

Ensemble “Ukrainochka” performed Ukrainian folk songs to the guests of the event.
