On 26 April 2013, the staff of the Embassy took part in the events dedicated to the 27th anniversary of the Chernobyl accident. During the commemorative meeting at the memorial sign to Chornobyl victims in the Riga University clinics of P.Stradins the welcome speech of the Ambassador of Ukraine to Latvia Mr. Anatoliy Oliynyk was read.

Representatives of the diplomatic corps, accredited to Latvia, members of the Latvian Union “Chornobyl”, the members of Latvian Saeima, ministries and institutions of the Latvian society, leadership of the Riga University clinics of P.Stradins also took part in the meeting. The event attracted Latvian mass-media representatives.
