On 27 June 2011 a meeting with activists of the Ukrainian community of Latvia was held in the Ukrainian literature division of the Academic Library of the University of Latvia. The event was dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Constitution of Ukraine.
Special exposition of the materials that illustrate the creation of the Fundamental Law of Ukraine form the times of Pylyp Orlyk to present day reforms was created in the division. The books presented by Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Latvia Anatoliy Oliynyk on behalf of the V.Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine, were used to form the exposition.
Counsellour of the Embassy of Ukraine in Latvia Oleksandr Kushnir told about milestones of the constitutional process in Ukraine and informed the Ukrainian community about today’s internal political reforms.
Heads and activists of Ukrainian cultural organizations of Riga, Liepaja, Vangazhi and other regions of Latvia were present at the meeting.
