On 5 July 2011 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Latvia Anatoliy Oliynyk visited the city of Daugavpils.

During the visit Ambassador held a meeting with Head of Daugavpils Сity Council Mrs. Žanna Kulakova. The perspectives of deepening cultural, economic and business interregional cooperation, e.g. between sister cities – Kharkiv and Daugavpils, were discussed. Mr. Oliynyk presented to Latvian side the list of business proposals of Ukrainian companies.

Ambassador also met with representatives of Ukrainian community of Daugavpils. Mr. Oliynyk got acquainted with the activities of the Ukrainian organization  «Mrija», discussed the problems that the Ukrainians of the city have to deal with.
