On March 26, 2011, within the framework of the celebration of 100th anniversary of Ukrainian diaspora in Latvia, a presentation of a new amator Ukrainian theatre took place in Latvian Academic Library. The Theatre presented the famous Ukrainian play  «Natalka-Poltavka»  by I.Kotliarevsky.

Amateur actors – ethnic Ukrainians – played brilliantly one of the masterpieces of Ukrainian drama. The audience gave them a warm welcome. Founder of the Theatre is Mrs. Maria Semenova, former creative director of the Riga Ukrainian secondary school theater studio  «Dzereltse».

On the same day in LAL a presentation of the poetic collection of Ukrainian poet K. Overchenko took place. Despite the fact that K. Overchenko lives far from Motherland, he loves Ukraine. The name of the book  «And Ukraine will be Ukraine»  proves that.

The event became of great interest of Latvian community and was covered by local media.
