The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine strongly condemns the execution of a Japanese hostage, journalist Kenji Goto, by the “Islamic State of Iraq and Levant” group. The brutal murder of an innocent person is not just an act of terrorism but a crime against humanity.
Ukraine condemns each and every manifestation of terrorism and stands for the eradication of this shameful phenomenon. Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine believes that this bloody act once again demonstrated the need to intensify and consolidate the efforts of the international community in the struggle against international terrorism.
In these days of hardship we would like to express our sincere condolences to relatives, friends of Kenji Goto and all the people of Japan, as well as assure the solidarity of all Ukrainians. Ukraine will keep backing Japan and its international partners in their efforts to fight terrorism and free hostages.
