Ukraine welcomes the resolution “humanitarian situation of Ukrainian refugees and displaced persons in Ukraine” adopted by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on January 27, 2015. The Parliamentary Assembly has demonstrated unequivocal support for Ukraine and strongly condemned actions of the Russian Federation aimed at violation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country. PACE has recognized that precisely direct interference of the Russian Federation has led to the emergence and deterioration of the situation in the Donbass region.
Supporting Ukraine's position on the need for strict compliance with every item of the Minsk agreements by all parties PACE calls on the Russian Federation to refrain from destabilizing Ukraine, financing and supporting militarily illegal armed groups, and use their influence on them to make them fully respect and implement the provisions of the Minsk agreements.
Assembly has also joined other states and institutions on the request to the Russian Federation to supply humanitarian aid only having agreed with Ukrainian government and in accordancewith laws of Ukraine and international law.
Ukraine is thankful to the PACE members for the appeal to the Russian Federation to immediately release the hostages, including Nadiya Savchenko, member of the Ukrainian parliamentary delegation to PACE and other Ukrainian citizens illegally held in Russian jails. Likewise Assembly acted in defense of the rights of the Crimean Tatars, in particular has mentioned numerous cases of intimidation of the population, harassment and discrimination against ethnic Ukrainian and Crimean Tatars.
