On June 22, 2010 Ambassador of Ukraine to Latvia Mr. Raul Chilachava held a meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia Mr. Valdis Dombrovskis.

During the negotiations the Parties discussed the present state and future perspectives of Ukraine-Latvia cooperation in different spheres, for instance, on the level of Governments. Valdis Dombrovskis has reiterated his invitation to Prime Minister of Ukraine Mr. Mykola Azarov to pay a visit to Latvia.

The Parties also stated that our countries do not have any problems in inter-state dialogue and posses wide possibilities of the development of trade and economic and investment cooperation. In that regard they stressed the importance of holding the Third session of Ukraine-Latvia Intergovernmental Commission on economic, industrial and scientific and technical cooperation in Riga this summer and signing of the Program of Economic Cooperation for 2010-2011.

The Latvian side has also reiterated its support of Ukraine on its path to European Union membership, as well as in its readiness to share the European integration experience.
