On June 16, 2010 Ambassador of Ukraine to Latvia Mr. Raul Chilachava held a meeting with Head of the Latvian Saeima Mr. Gundars Daudze.

During the meeting the Parties discussed the issues of bilateral relations, e.g. the interaction on the level of Parliaments of Ukraine and Latvia. They expressed hope that the dialogue between legal bodies of both countries would be activated.

The Parties also exchanged their views on the perspectives of Ukraine-Latvia relations and stressed the importance of holding the Third session of Ukraine-Latvia Intergovernmental Commission on economic, industrial and scientific and technical cooperation in Riga this summer.

The Parties also expressed mutual content of the work of delegations of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and Saeima of the Republic of Latvia within the international parliamentary institutions – the Council of Europe, the OSCE and NATO. The Latvian Side reiterated its support of European integration aspirations of Ukraine.
