On June 17, 2010 Ambassador of Ukraine to Latvia Mr. Raul Chilachava held a meeting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia Mr. Aivis Ronis.
During the negotiations the Parties discussed the present state and future perspectives of Ukraine-Latvia cooperation in different spheres. Minister of Foreign Affairs praised the high level of bilateral relations and cooperation within the multilateral framework, reached in the past years. Aivis Ronis stressed that Ukraine is a crucial element of Europe and important partner of the EU and NATO. Latvian Side expressed its readiness to continue cooperation between Ukraine and European Union and Alliance on the issues of interest to our state.
The Parties also stated that our countries do not have any problems in inter-state dialogue and posses wide possibilities of the development of trade and economic and investment cooperation. In that regard they stressed the importance of holding the Third session of Ukraine-Latvia Intergovernmental Commission on economic, industrial and scientific and technical cooperation in Riga this summer.
Due to the fact that the diplomatic mission of Raul Chilachava in Latvia is coming to an end, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia expressed deep gratitude to him for the personal contribution to the development of bilateral relations, especially in cultural and humanitarian dimensions.
