On June 9, 2010 in the Embassy of Ukraine in Latvia demonstration of the film  «Rudolf’s Heritage»  took place.

The film depicts the history of Latvian struggle for freedom at the beginning of the XX century on the example of one rich Latish family.

The director of the movie is famous Latvian cinema director, actor and writer Jānis Streičs. He has a lot of national and foreign awards. Jānis Streičs became famous due to the film  «Theatre»  (by the novel of W. Somerset Maugham). One of his recent films,  «The Child of Man», was nominated to Oscar.

In their welcome speeches, Ambassador of Ukraine Raul chilachava and the author of the film stressed the importance of developing Ukraine-Latvia cultural ties.

Heads of diplomatic missions, accredited in Latvia, representatives of Ukrainian community and of Latvian academic and creative circles took part in the event.
