On June 16, 2010 Ambassador of Ukraine to Latvia Mr. Raul Chilachava held a meeting with President of the Republic of Latvia Mr. Valdis Zatlers.

During the meeting the Parties discussed the issues of Ukraine-Latvia cooperation in different spheres. Mr. Zatlers has reiterated Latvia’s readiness for the visit of President of Ukraine Mr. Viktor Yanukovych.

The Parties also stated that our countries do not have any problems in inter-state dialogue and posses wide possibilities of the development of trade and economic and investment cooperation. In that regard they stressed the importance of holding the Third session of Ukraine-Latvia Intergovernmental Commission on economic, industrial and scientific and technical cooperation in Riga this summer.

Due to the fact that the diplomatic mission of R.Chilachava in Latvia is coming to an end, President of Latvia expressed deep gratitude to him for the personal contribution to the development of bilateral relations  «as Ambassador of Ukraine and Ambassador of culture».
