Dmytro Kuleba, the MFA of Ukraine Ambassador-at-large, and Einārs Semanis, Director General of Bilateral Relations Directorate, have held a meeting at the Latvian MFA.
During the meeting the parties discussed the role of strategic communications furing a hybrid war, modern challenges shared by two countries in the information sphere and outlined areas for cooperation to overcome them.
The Latvian side informed about the preparations for the Media Freedom Conference, which will be held on May 20, 2015 in Riga, Latvia under Latvian Presidency of the Council of the EU.

It was once again stressed that Latvia fully supports Ukraine both within the framework of international organizations and at the bilateral level. The meeting confirmed joint approach of Ukraine and Latvia in dealing with many pressing problems.
From the Ukrainian side this meeting was also attended by Phil Jones, Special Defense Advisor at the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and Alina Frolova, representative of a non-governmental sector, expert on strategic communications.
The Ukrainian delegation visited Riga on February 18-20 in the framework of coordination meetings between representatives of Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova on Strategic Communications in Riga by the invitation of the NATO Center of Excellence.
