Students of Riga Business School visited the Embassy of Ukraine in Latvia and talked to Consul of Ukraine Oleg Gorbenko.
Students were interested in the actual situation in Ukraine, the adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to EU standards and steps by the Government to protect the rights of citizens. During the meeting the evacuation of citizens of Ukraine and other countries from Nepal and other examples of successful cooperation, including with the Republic of Latvia were discussed.
Oleg Gorbenko informed students about Latvian humanitarian aid treatment and rehabilitation of Ukrainian soldiers wounded during the ATO in eastern Ukraine, the moves byf Ukraine and the EU to liberalize the visa regime and adjustment of local border traffic.
It was emphasized that all member states were handling with the process of internal transformations and reforms, but Ukraine is doing it in difficult circumstances of external aggression.
At the end of the meeting, the representative of the Embassy thanked the students of the RigaBusinessSchool for their interest in Ukraine and noted that such contacts are an important impetus for the development of democracy and cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Latvia.
