On April 22, 2010 Ambassador of Ukraine to Latvia Mr. R.Chilachava took part in conference on «Restoration of Latvia’s independence: between ideal and reality», that was held in the premises of the Academy of Science of Latvia.

In his speech Ambassador told about the fight of national patriotic forces of Ukraine for restoration of independence, the way to democratic development of our state. Talking about the achievements on international arena, R.Chilachava stressed, that Ukraine has always viewed Latvia as a reliable friend and partner. Latvia has also always been advocate of Ukraine in its European integration aspirations.

President of Latvia Mr. Valdis Zatlers, prominent politicians, scientists and representatives of non-governmental organizations took part in the conference. The event was broadly covered by Latvian media.
