On 20 May President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had a meeting with President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis, who arrived in Ukraine to attend the solemn ceremony of inauguration of the newly elected President.
Volodymyr Zelensky thanked Latvia for support in a difficult period, connected with the Russian aggression against Ukraine. He emphasized that Ukraine's priorities in foreign policy and continuation of reforms remained unchanged, having expressed his hope that Latvia will continue to advocate Ukraine in the European Union and NATO. In the context of Euro-Atlantic aspirations of Ukraine he commended on the efforts of Latvia aimed to assist Ukraine in the reform of the defense sector.
A particular attention during the meeting was focused on troublesome aspects of Latvian companies activities in Ukraine. The President of Ukraine reassured that his attention would remain focused on the protection of foreign investors.
