The ways to develop the cooperation between the Ukrainian local authorities and the Riga City Council, as well as new opportunities for the bilateral inter-regional cooperation were discussed by the sides within the meeting. Particularly, the prospects for revitalizing the cooperation between the Twin Cities of Riga and Kyiv, inter alia, by exchanging the visits at the level of the delegations of the capital cities administration units were discussed.

The main focus of cooperation centred upon the opportunities for deepening the interaction in the field of tourism, notably in terms of supporting the Ukrainian – Latvian events by the Riga Tourism Development Bureau (within the project “LiveRiga”) , as well as hosting the Kyiv days in Riga.

Apart from it, the prospects of cooperation in the restoration of the historical buildings through applying the experience of the Riga City Council in terms of attracting financing by using the EU funds were discussed.
