On 14 November 2012, in the office of Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Society “Mrija”, with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Latvia the cultural event “Embroider towel of Ukrainian in Latvia” was held. This event was dedicated to the Day of Proclamation of the Republic of Latvia. The event was attended by representatives of the Embassy,the Department of Culture of Daugavpils Council, members of the Society, journalists and local television.

During the event the towel was solemnly handed to Ludza Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Society "Cheremshyna" for further embroidery.
