Chargé d’Affairs of Ukraine in Latvia O. Kushnir took part in the celebration of 100 years jubilee of Ukrainian diaspora of Latvia, that took place in Vangazhi.

On May 14, 2011, within the framework of the celebration of 100th anniversary of Ukrainian diaspora in Latvia, a solemn concert of Ukrainian cultarual community «Jatran» took place in Vangazhi.

When opening the evening, Chargé d’Affairs of Ukraine in Latvia O. Kushnir briefed on Ukraine’s support of Ukrainians living abroad, including the Latvian organizations of Ukrainian compatriots.

During the concert the Ukrainian collective «Veselka» sang Ukrainian songs. Also the amator Ukrainian theatre presented the famous Ukrainian play «Natalka-Poltavka» by I.Kotliarevsky.

The event became of great interest of Latvian community and was covered by local media.
